The card has less vdroop when kept cool too that's great! Those vrms are like watercooling lol So happy. biggrin.gif Only downside is that the fan run at full speed all the speed because I have it to a molex... molex to 3 pin, does that exists? But even so I'm not sure my fan controller could handle it, this fan requires 1.36A to start, so around 20w. Got some pics coming too.

Can you take a pic of your card?

I'm running mk-26 too with 2 usv14 on it and 2*140mm fans 1200rpm on the side but i cannot get less then 75C during valley on hte core.
I tried with Coolaboratory liquid pro and Prolimatech pk-3. The difference is 2-3 degrees.

I notice that temperature is not uniform on the mk-26. Short piece is really hotter ( 25 or more degrees) than the other side.

I have a question. I got myself a R9 290 Tri X and I'm having some problems with it. Under high load (around 80° temp) for example when running FurMark or GW2 my monitor loses the signal to the GPU and the fans of the GPU go to what sounds like 100%.... I need to shutdown with by holding down the power button. I read about the Blackscreen problems and installed various drivers (newest, older, betas, hwql ....). I checked all cables and manually put the fans to 80% and higher to see if it somehow doesnt get enough power. The computer is all new and it has worked perfectly (with iGPU) before I installed the GPU.
I really think it has something to do with the temperatur because it always happens around 80°-82°.
Faulty card or is there a known fix for this?

(Note: I'm from Switzerland, sorry for the crappy english)

To anyone using Tri-X BIOS with their 290/290X, what is the consensus about them? Did you get good overclock with Tri-X BIOS? I'm thinking using 290X Tri-X BIOS on my Sapphire R9 290's. Comparing Tri-X & ASUS/PT1 BIOS, which do you think is better?

@HOMECINEMA-PC, your feedback/comment on this will be useful too.

With stock BIOS, I can do 1200/1600 MHz @+200mV (1.422 - 1.432V) & I can run Valley (5115), Heaven (2965) & Firestrike Extreme (9660, graphics score 11340, physics score 12025) without any problem. Please let me know if my score is too low.

To anyone that RMA'ed a card back to Gigabyte (or anyone for that matter) how did you send it? I have the Gigabyte box with my card but I dont have a box big enough to fit it in. Think putting it in its anti static bag and in a box will of packing peanuts will be enough or should I really try and hunt down a box?

Keep in mind these fans are very loud. I have to handle them at 100% even at idle because my fan controller can't handle them. Even MK-26 struggles to keep the card cool. These fans are about as loud as reference cooler at 75%. I also used CLP. I'll have some screenshots coming of temps. thumb.gif

Can you update me to aftermarket Arizonian?

Most of us here will not recommend the use of furmark. anyway, I would like to see your vcore at idle and load. you can use GPUZ to see these readings and more. It should look like these . . .

Idle

Load temps. You have to monitor the vrms temps just as much . . .

I would like to compare your voltages with mine. and, yes, use GPUZ to load your gpu by clicking the "?" and start. To stop (if temps are getting too hot - just close the render window.

I'm pretty sure everyone gets 1.18v in that GPU-Z rendering test. What I am curious about is when you say you get 1.41v after vdroop when you apply +200mv... are you sure that it is really 1.41 during the bench or just a spike (like when you close Valley and you render 1000+ frames). On my card when I apply +100mv my actual voltage is more like 1.18-1.21 depending on the game.

It seems quick's 290 is having issues like blackscreen and i suspect that the vcore might be too low. just speculating.

I just saw the 1.4v using GPUZ and not sure is there was vdroop or not. btw, i had problems using AB and GPUZ at the same time, so now i only use Trixx to oc.
