Basically without mantle I had to turn video setting down to high, now I can have them on ultra

Realise this feedback is a bit anecdotal, when I get a minute I'll do some tests and put the results and my specs etc on here

It was weird for me, if I stopped and just looked around everything was fluid and smooth as it should be hitting almost 200fps but the second I started walking around it got choppy even with the fps not dropping at all. Then sometimes it was fine lol. I'm going to play around with it more just because I'm a glutton for punishment biggrin.gif

They claim it's good for 3 and 4 gpu's now

I believe 4670k still can handle two 290's in Crossfire. I don't know for sure. If the CPU is bottlenecking, it will affecting all CPU intensive games.

I dont experience any bottlenecking with my 3570k at 4,6ghz, cpu usage doesnt go higher than 90% in bf4

It would depend on the game and how optimized it was for more cores.

Anandtech found that 4670k ~VS~ 4770k with (3) 7970s the frame rates were very close.  I think the 4670k should be plenty.

None of these games are very CPU intensive at all, and even IF some are, they're singlethreaded so i5 and i7 wouldnt matter much. Compare an i5 to a 3930k or something in BF4.

So after all this stressing about RMA'ing my black screen 290x to Powercolor, since i haven't heard back from them yet about my ticket, i decided to give Newegg a call just for the hell of it. They decided to honor the card and issued me another RMA :D

Much respect to Newegg on this one. Really didn't think they'd step up after giving me the 6 day return window from my first RMA.

So I installed the Fujipoly Ultra Extreme thermal pads on my XSPC Razor water block last night and got good results. Looks like it dropped my VRM 1 temps by about 20c across the board. I was hitting 66-69c after a run of Valley @ 1250 / 1500, +150mv, now with the pads I'm seeing around 47c. Very happy!

Took me lot longer to install though because my new rotary fitting I installed started leaking *sigh* luckily I caught it right away, but it caused me to have to drain my loop all over again... what a pain. I will be doing further testing tonight smile.gif
