Don't know dude. It asked me to update my already updated .Net framework files. I'll look into that one a bit more and get back... And besides I'm pretty sure that there's a way that's more native to the Operating system.. I usually go as light as I can with assisted performance programs.

Point became moot because Amazon ambushed me with an early ship lol. So now to go for the PCS+ would mean a restock fee plus the price inflation, a $100 premium, not worth it. Sapphire is probably my favorite gpu brand anyway, though Powercolor has really won me over this round with the 270X Devil and the PCS+ 290. Yeah I don't think I can go wrong, I'm pretty sure these are the two best 290s available right now and at the lowish clocks I'll be running I think temps will be fine across both gpus.

However since this is OCN, find your best OC card by doing your bench runs and game testing to see how the single performance is (remember aim for stability!). Use the best (usually highest average/min/max fps in that regard) as your first slot card. I've noticed a fps gain of about 5-7 going this way.

Well oc won't be an issue since I have an 850w psu to run 290x2 and a 4670k @ 4.7. Cpu draw 150w, a single 290 at stock draws around 200-220. So I won't be able to overclock much at all. Targeting something around 1080/1400 which is what my Powercolor can do at 0 vddc offset. I'm hoping the Tri-X will hit that, fingers crossed, +80 on the core without a vddc offset isn't guaranteed by any means.

I've been using DDU ever since I switched to win 8 and then 8.1. I've had zero issues with driver un-installs/ installs. thumb.gif

It's uber simple. Unzip the proggie, reboot in to safe mode, run the proggie (make sure you check to delete the main amd folder etc..), it reboots, I install my new drivers, restart and done.

AB does have hysteresis which is nice.

Yes, you can set your fan curves in MSI AB, and thanks for your reply, I'll look into it further tomorrow and post whatever I find out about it. +1 thumb.gif

Also, yeah I use DDU.. But what I just found out is that after you set a profile with any sort of adjustment, ALWAYS reboot your system and wait for all of your start up programs to load before running a graphic intensive program, and it should* let you run the program as intended. My problem was that I making adjustments in either mid-game, or starting the initial program before I let all of my start up programs load. Now I've just achieved a +9 on the Powerplay feature, with a 6mv increase doing 1125/1450. Running Battlefiel 4 now with supersamplng and high quality textures and all of the best settings and its like a whole different game I'm playing. Just on the threshold of being exactly what I'm after which is a 100% smooth running game. These are very interesting times with these new Radeons and I'm quite satisfied with this newest series, and its only gonna get better! biggrin.gif

Depending on what else you're running that 850 psu may not be enough. I had a 1000w which was only enough to clock either the two cards or my cpu - couldn't do both. However I sold that and picked a brand new 1200w strider gold and its running full overclocks perfectly! The most ive seen it pull from the wall plug is 1527w...

That's really damn high! 1500+ watts is something normally a 4 way config and lga2011 platform would do, all with substantial overclocking. What are your overclocks and voltage(s) used?

Whoa. 1200w for crossfire, even overclocked? That seems really high. I have a wall meter also, a Belkin Conserve Insight, and at 0 vddc offset and/or moderate clocks, the system draw is less than 400, and my 4670k is at 4.7 and pulls a ton of watts. Here is a readout of HWInfo64 showing the power draw at +81 vddc, 1150/1500 clocks:

And the cpu power draw:

And that's about what my wall meter shows me, just a little shy, the rest goes to fans and drives and mobo. At higher clocks than I plan to run in xfire the gpu is drawing ~220w. I do have a 1000w psu in a cart ready to order, but I thought I'd try the 850w first. Seems like it should work.

I know you can set a custom fan curve in AB but can you save separate fan curves per profile? I couldn't find a way to do that. Seemed like AB was just saving one fan curve setting for all profiles.

looks to be a standard case screw, the ones you usually use on your slots and hard drives, but I doubt the card would use one at all on the cooler...

I agree with Quakermaas, that would be the most likely location a screw of that size and head type would go.  Tried to take a picture of mine from the underside, but waterblock is in the way.
