Quick question. Have we seen the limits being pushed on water yet, or is the early driver/afterburner-voltage lock holding it back?
I would expect once AB unlocks true core and memory voltage controls, we should be able to hit 1250 on the core easily on water. Is this the consensus? Can someone also confirm/deny whether memory overclocking on the 290x has a more significant impact on FPS than it did on the 7970's?
1250 core can be had relatively easy on water. Im having a lot of trouble getting stable at 1300 though. Im still pretty new to gpu overclocking and haven't figured out what the ram likes yet. I need to run some benches to see if ram clocking even effects game performance, because i think it's causing my issues
Temperatures do not seem to be the issue, i have yet to break 50*C on the core. No word on vrm temps yet
