Preliminary 290 crossfire temp test using Metro LL bench looped 50x on max settings. Clocked at 1080 core, 1350 mem, 0 vddc offset.
Gpu1: Sapphire 290 Tri-X OC
Gpu2: Powercolor PCS+ 290
Sapphire 290 -- 72c core, 71c vrm1, 56c vrm2
Powercolor 290 -- 61c core, 61c vrm1, 48c vrm2
I can live with those temps
That's better than I expected from my silenced Define R4 case which doesn't have stellar airflow to begin with and I'm using Noctua fans set to max at 1000rpms. But boy does 290 crossfire pump out the heat. The area around my desk is noticeably warmer. That's crazy. My pc case is literally a space heater now. Cpu temps are wrecked, high 50s low 60s, 5-10c higher than before.
Gpu usage is still all over the place though, what is this about? Max gpu load on gpu1 was only 88%. Cpu usage was 91%.

I'm not so much interested in maxing out scores (one 290 was enough for me frankly, this setup is waaaaay overkill lol), just in making sure things are as they should be. If other xfirers could share their Valley scores I would appreciate it. List your clocks obviously.
Do they both have same voltages applied for the clocks?
Here's an odd thing. I have Afterburner set to apply the same settings to both cards obviously. And vddc is set to 0. But the Powercolor, which comes with a +50 vddc in the bios, is still using the higher voltage. Sapphire gets 1.188v max, Powercolor gets 1.227 max. Shouldn't they be operating on the same voltage?
Have you tried with both GPUs in the top and bottom slot? I've seen people mention swapping positions before.
Won't fit that way, Sapphire is 305mm and collides with the lower hdd cage.
