Now I just set the GPU0 for 950mhz which does OK but sometimes then it goes into the low 80s so its hard to get it just right..

This CCC has the settings I want "Target GPU Temprature". from here -> http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/radeon_r9_290_review_benchmarks,31.html
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

but this is what my CCC settings look like:

Anyone know why mine is different? I have 14.2 drivers. Is there any way to expose those additional sliders?

Thanks!

You probably just need to enable Overdrive - it isn't checked in your 14.2 screenshot. Otherwise there was a bug with the 14.1s that didn't correctly install CCC sometimes, maybe try re-installing the drivers or manually installing CCC if the Overdrive thing doesn't work.

2) It's been a long time since I ran multiple cards, so I'll give you an educated guess.  If disabling the PCI-E slots requires a reboot, then that is probably the route you're going to have to take.  Boots don't take that long these days anyhow with SSDs smile.gif

3) Use whatever benchmarks you would like.  Anything 3DMark or Unigine will do, just depends on how much time you want to spend doing it.

4) Depends on how detailed you want to be.  If you're just looking for performance results, than the benchmark scores will do just fine.  For Unigine you could also record the min/max/avg frames per second if you wanted.

In my build log I have a spreadsheet if you want to scope that out.  I recorded GPU/VRM temperatures for most of my benchmark runs as well.

Thanks, as usual Roboyto!

Question, am I about to cook my motherboard?! I'm running only on motherboard tray (out of PC) at the moment.

Enabling that does not expose any more options unfortunately:

I did use DDU to clean up any nvidia stuff maybe leftover. I also re-installed the 14.2 Catalyst stuff.

here is the versions i have now:

I don't think those sensors are giving a correct reading. Just checked mine and I have maximums up to 112C and 120C.  Don't even know what they are for TBH...my list doesn't have Temp 3..only 2, 4, and 5.  I know nothing in my computer is running that hot, so I would assume that there is nothing to worry about.

Since you have the board on a table poke :heyyou:, literally, around and see if anything is that hot.  If something was close to boiling water temperatures you would probably find it pretty quickly.

Congrats - added thumb.gifSnorkle.gif

If you can go back to that post and just edit in a GPU-Z Link with OCN name or Screen shot of GPU-Z validation tab open with OCN name as proof. But I believe you, so added. smile.gif

thanks!

All the info at the top of the overdrive page (in CCC) is blank (0 MHz clock speed, 0 MHz memory speed, temp 0C, etc) so I'd say it is probably a bad install. Some people, with the 14.1s, had success installing 13.12 and then installing 14.1 over top, which kept it from losing CCC, I guess you could try that.

I think that is because I selected the second video card which is inactive.

I re-installed 13.2 drivers and i still don't have the options.

Thanks for your help.

AMD sucks. I hope these cards catch on fire.

Your CCC looks the same as mine, From what i've heard the custom cards don't have a Temp Target setting in CCC.

Only Reference have the Temp target setting, other might need to confirm this for me though.
