More like a 707 or 747 Classic taking off biggrin.gif Dem old school turbines.
The cost effective solution is a S1 Plus + 2x140mm fans. Extreme III if you want to spend more.

Anyways in bf4 i used windowed mode, and when i checked hwinfo64 and/or afterburner I had both cards chuggling along together. From everything ive read crossfire wont work in windowed mode of any sort. I am using 14.2 drivers maybe thats it? Anyone else see this?

interesting. but i would firstly consider a reading error because i also only knew about crossfire working in fullscreen (had CF in the past)

Usage cannot be read on these cards properly. Because CFX is enabled, the tool assumed usage on card 2 despite using windows mode.
Just to confirm: CFX only works with full screen mode.

Did you guys see the OpenCL 1.2 beta driver from AMD? It can be found here: http://developer.amd.com/resources/heterogeneous-computing/opencl-zone/opencl-1-2-beta-driver/

And Intel's CPU only OpenCL 1.2 runtime here: http://software.intel.com/en-us/vcsource/tools/opencl-sdk#pid-20228-1441

I installed AMD's driver right over their latest beta driver with MANTLE, and I can still run Battlefield 4 with MANTLE enabled and along with the OpenCL extensions I think its running everything better... Not positive, but I think its an interesting topic and anyone with any good feedback on this would be appreciated too.. But anyway, there's that. lol smile.gif They say that the features for the OpenCL will officially come out later this year in future drivers, so this isn't a necessary driver other than for developers right now anyways. But if you decide to try it and have some info about it, I'd like to learn more about it from those who know about it, and are interested. smile.gif

Howdy folks! I plan on buying 2 waterblocks for my 290x crossfire setup, I do have a question though. I plan on buying the ek 290x reference blocks with a 3 slot terminal block, do I need any sort of plugs to get this working or is it pretty much plug and play?

Plugs as in those that cover the g1/4" ports? I believe all waterblock makers will give you enough of those to cover the unused ones in pretty much any setup. Other than that block your cards, put the terminal block on the side by the ports screw it in together tightly with O rings and then snap both cards into the correct pcie slots and hook up your tubing.

Awesome, just want to make sure as I don't have a store nearby so I have to order from frozencpu, takes them well over a month to get stuff shipped to Mexico.

Much appreciated!

Ouch thats quite a long time for shipping. if you are unsure just contact ek support they will let you know. Just make sure to buy enough fittings for your planned loop

Well i used mantle also.. And my fps was super high compared to just 1 card. The 2nd cards heat numbers also reflected its usage. Anyone else confirm mantle and windowed mode. I didn't see anything in patch notes. It seems dumb they wouldn't enable it, when I read sli does work in windowed mode. It doesn't seem right to force fullscreen and vsync, more choice the better. Since vsync gives is reduced tearing and extra input lag. Windowed mode seems to solve all those issues. Plus when I do try to run in fullscreen with x-fire i get about 5 fps no joke, its unplayable.
