Hello guys, my Sapphire R9-290x Tri-X is making a buzz rattle only when the fan is running at 44% ~ 47%, a little touch on the plastic shrouder makes the rattle disappears. Is there something I can do to fix that?

I think I am experiencing the same issue, but I thought it was coil whine. Not something related to the shroud.

So apparently anyone using the Afterburner beta is royally screwed as of this Friday. It expires and the creator has no new version coming out anytime soon (apparently due to the crisis in Ukraine). So anyone who is voltage unlocking their card is going to have to look to use another program like Trixx or GPU Tweak. Way too go MSI.

You are seriously griping about this when the person who programs this utility is in the middle of a crisis? Just use Trixx for the time being, its not the end of the world if you have to wait a bit.

You're telling me MSI couldn't hire a temp programmer to work on afterburner while their main person is dealing with the crisis? Yeah sorry not buying that. There are lots of people who rely on Afterburner and they dropped the ball.

Also Trixx fan profiling doesn't work for my second card, so no I will not use it.

I tell you what, when they start charging you to use the utility then you can complain, its a program that is being provided free of charge so you really have no basis for complaining about a delay.

This is unwinders project and MSI isnt going to spend more money hiring someone else to program something that you as the user are getting for free.

So I'm working on overclocking my r9 290 tri-x OC at the moment. It's stable at +75mv, +50% power limit, @1170mhz(still going up), mem still stock while I find max core.

I'm noticing that it's downclocking quite frequently to around 1070mhz while running heaven benchmark on a loop to scan for artifacts. What could be causing this behavior?

My temps are 70C on the core, and 72C on VRM 1 and 50C (is this normal?) on VRM2. Am I just hitting the power limit for the card and throttling? If so then is there much point in pushing it further?

It's not a free utility. People spend hundreds of dollars on MSI's products and expect to get software that won't expire. Personally I would have no problem paying for the utility as it is much better than all the other software from the major GPU makers out there, but that isn't exactly an option now is it?
