I tried the afterburner guide to enable more than 100mV but it didn't work.

You could just use Trixx, unless you need something special from Afterburner (which expires Friday anyway, unless they patch it). It allows +200mV.

News: using Trixx i finally made my first little stable overclock :

Gpu : 1060 Vram : 1350 (without +VDDC or +Power Limit, vanilla !)

Full stable, 73C max temp. with 40% fans. (not a noise)

Now i can push further for sure thumb.gif

ps. (ok the settings are the same of the HIS model...but i think the temps are much better)

Oh and do you use the fan mount on the side which I'm assuming aims a fan at the bottom of the cpu socket? I've always wondered if those make a difference.

I have a stock 290x and are having problems with the FPS jumping up and down. For example look at 1.15 in the video. The FPS goes between 50 and 100 in just a few seconds. Does anyone know why this is happening, someone said it might be the CPU holding me back, but according to this it says that "If yellow is below green on the graph, then your CPU is holding back your GFX card." Which its not in the second video. Playing on High with 4xAA and stock GPU settings.

(sound is weird on this one, because i cut out a skype conversation)

Another video with the performance logger on:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-PXOPAtEivQ&list=UUmG93lrDE05Rfuy-mF_MkOA

EDIT:
After a closer look it looks like its the CPU thats holding me back, when playing BF4 with mantle i have no problems and the FPS is even.

Congrats - I've added you to roster thumb.gif

However if you can go back to that post and edit in a GPU-Z screen shot of OCN name showing or GPU-Z validation link with OCN name would be great. smile.gif

No mate that rig weighs 30lbs heaps of room

That 120mm fan is drawing air out straight over top of cpu back plate
Those 290's look damn fine

Power limit in 14.xx doesn't work with stock BIOS's. PT1 and PT3 work as they have no limit. But, for a stock based BIOS it means no overvolting past +25mV. Otherwise it'll just throttle harder.

Mine didn't throttle at +75 or +50mV. So it kind of depends on the card. I'm on water though.
