Here is what is going on while in Battlefield 4. The only way to make my GPU usage 99% is when I ramp the Resolution Scale all the way up to 200%. Obviously that tanks my FPS hard. On standard Ultra settings with Antialiasing Post OFF, It hovers around 67%. On all low settings is hovers around 55%. Yet it still says 977 on the core. And if you don't know already, Mantle actually decreases my performance and I get lots of stuttering and hiccups. Should I try one of the 13.xxx Stable Drivers?
Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

Stupid question have you shut of ULPS on the card. Look up ultra low power state turning off there are programs that will do it of you or you can search the registry and make changes.

As far as mantle goes try the 14.3 V1 beta.

Interesting. See the below repsone I got when I emailed them.

Dear Brian,

Thank you for contacting Asus Customer Support.

Please be informed that we have certain exclusions from the warranty service. The warranty will not apply if the product has been tampered, repaired and/or modified by non-authorized personnel.

If you replace a part of the product this will indeed void the warranty of the product.

Description :
Hi Guys,

If I were to replace the Direct CU II cooler on an R9 290 with a watercooling block
would that void my warranty?

In the event of an RMA I would obviously replace the stock cooler. If there was NO
damage as a result of the cooler swap, would warranty hold up?

Regards,

Brian.

So I guess I am being bottlenecked.

UK policies must be different than USA. I have had a couple DC2 cards and none of them had tamper stickers on the HSF screws.

I know XFX does this as well. Both my 290's had the tamper stickers on them. However, for North American market, warranty is not voided by removing the HSF as long as no damage is done to the card and it is returned to stock configuration if you need to RMA.

i was referring to that screenie you included. was that Hwinfo64? one core showing 100% load and the rest were all above 90%. not good.

edit: but that thing is . . . mantle should help in 14.3. it may not show in the graphs but at least in actual gameplay.

Except it isn't. Mantle just cause hiccups and stuttering with worse performance. I don't understand.

in some systems it still does. others, like mine, it works. not sure what's up but at the very least, DX 11 should not give you any of these issues if only your cpu is oc'ed a bit more.

one thing, though, i never use third-party cleaners like DDU and driver sweeper. but i never went from green to red either.

Okay is that with the newest beta driver from AMD. The one I gave the link to 14.3 V1 . i had studering with the initial driver the one mentioned here seems to fix all of that. I cant see any of you links have you checked your VRM temps If the VRMs or Core are too hot for any reason you will be getting wild results with these cards.Never mind just saw the info

temps were 78c on the core, 77c vm1 and 68c vm2. The fan was at 85%. this looks close to right under air.

I've heard of this difference in US and EU policies before, how do they justify it?!
