With the "proper" ventilation you can even "survive" on stock air cooling also tongue.gif

Conversely, your RAM runs fine @ 1500 MHz - mine is artifacting on the desktop instantly after I set those 1500 MHz. Ingame, it also leads to a blackscreen. biggrin.gif

Btw.: I just sat down after a new bench-session and created a new graphic. Contrary to the assumption of a big FPS-profit when using VRAM-OC and heavy-SSAA/Downsampling combined, it gets clear that besides benchmarking, VRAM-OC is almost useless on the Hawaii-GPU. In addition, you pay 82% power draw for an fps-plus of ~15% when using an OC-cripple as mine biggrin.gif

Nice setup, looks as it should have an excellent airflow!

I would just like to say thanks to all who attempted to help me with my GPU issue. All my problems are gone now. I simply switched to Windows 8.1 and re-unparked my cores. Battlefield 4 now runs at 100+ Fps constantly on Ultra with no AA. Mantle works perfectly fine with no more crazy stuttering. I didn't really believe windows 8 made such a difference but wow...

Also could I get added to the club?

Warning: Spoiler! (Click to show)

are you serious? could you do more testing in MP 64 and are you using 14.4 or older 14 driver?

i can get Win8 at a discount but i just don't want to reinstall everything to the drive.

anyways, i'm glad it is working for you, though, i have no issue using Win7. i'm just curious 'cause it could be reinstalling the driver and/or the game itself that are making the difference.

It may be Windows 8.1 doing the trick or it may be that I reformatted and just flat out reinstalled Windows. I am using 14.4 Beta Drivers. I would love to do more testing but I won't be able to until tomorrow.

I am on 8.1 and have not had any problems with Mantle or 14.3 drivers. My specs are in my signature.

The ASUS R9290-DC2OC-4GD5 suck.

These cards may be a improved version, but they suck at both overclocking and for mining. Can't even game with them unless you go the extra mile to cool them. (VRM and Core, rocket to 90 if you don't push the fans past 70%)

I have 2 of the initial reference cards, and they hit 1175/1350 @ +30mV and +30% powertune

My VisionTek reference card that I bought in March, hits the same, but with +38mV and +30% powertune.

My two ASUS cards can't even hit 1175/1300 @ +50mV and +50% powertune

what the heck ASUS?

Either qc at ASUS stopped caring about quality control during the mining rush, or these cards were not intended for overclocking.

When they released it i posted some pics in here of the cooler's contact (or lack thereof) with the die, not all of the heatpipes touch.

they just used the GTX 780 cooler on a Hawaii card, same as the Matrix....

Asus is on my never buy list for GPU's now, very disappointed in them over it
