I got my ASUS connected with the use of two 90 degrees smile.gif
IMG_20140418_150820.jpg

now I need to figure out why Windows isn't detecting the third card. Bios sees all 3 running at 8x 4x 4x. Was on 13.11, currently downloading 13.12 from 3DGuru. (why is it taking over 2hrs?)

EDIT: hmm, I stumped. The first time I added a card to my loop, the drivers wouldn't install. It would always crash* during installation. Vers. 14.1 and 13.12 and 13.23

However, DDU and 13.11 fixed the problem.

Now, I added the third card. Windows see the two other cards, but not the ASUS. I try opening CCC, it says there are no options CCC can edit.
So I use DDU in safe mode and uninstall everything. Tried installing 14.1, 13.12 and 13.11. crashes* every time, but at-least I have 3 Microsoft Basic Display adapters this time.

*crash - by this I mean, the mouse freezes and background music starts looping the last 2 seconds.

That's really sad to hear, DC2 coolers were always top notch in the previous series. ASUS RMA just gone downhill recently or what? I plan to run my 280x until the fans completely lock up or are just bad enough that they warrant an RMA, unless they get sold off first.

My recent ATTEMPT with ASUS for RMA of a motherboard aggravated me to the point of selling the board on eBay as a 'parts only', purchasing a gigabyte to replace it, and, literally, selling(or planning to sell) nearly everything ASUS that I own. That included: my laptop, netbook, 2 external DVD drives, router, GT640 GPU, and a Bluetooth dongle. Still contemplating what I'm going to do with my Z87 Gryphon..I have 2 year warranty at Microcenter, so I'm thinking of waiting for that warranty to expire and then I'll upgrade to whatever new CPU/MoBo is at that time.

For their tech support to tell me that the PCIe slot isn't on/part of the motherboard is simply sad.

My advice...steer well clear of them. Especially with their unexcusably lazy use of an Nvidia cooler on AMD cards.

I havent had much time to sit down and figure out my issue. I know its not temps but I got worse performance once I overclocked all 4 cards now. It sucks because im trying to post benchmarks that reflect actual performance issues at 4k eyefinity.

13.12 shouldn't be giving that issue. you only have one psu feeding all gpus?

Yep only 1 PSU but i wasn't having the issue before. I just need to do more testing to see if i am not hallucinating because i've ran so many benchmarks lately its getting tot he point i need a sign off sheet before starting each test lol. It's possible i was actually on 14.3 and thought i was on 13.12 at some point.

That's too bad, I haven't had to RMA to many items and all have gone smoothly. I also haven't had to RMA anything for a while though and degradation of service is entirely possible. Then you get horror stories from all manufacturers, so its a bit of a crapshoot altogether.

That was quite lazy of them on the cooler, The whole rear end of the cooler looks to be mostly useless since that pipe don't even touch the die.

However when I increase to 2C (around +280mw) offset in MSI afterburner the voltage is 1.25~1.28v under load with the same clocks but my computer shuts off in 2~3 seconds into 3dmark11. I feel like there overvoltage protection or some limitation on the asus board which is supposed to have improved stability for its vrm

My temperatures are <80 for vrm and <70 for core

anyone have similar experience?

blackscreen or complete power outage? sounds like you may be out of PSU room?

I only have 1 290 and 1 4770k running on a 1000W xfx platinum that I don't think is faulty.
I believe its a power off but I will check again when I'm home.

Black screen is usually instability/lack of voltage right? My issue happens when I put more than 20(+200mv) in msi ab command line ie. 25, 2c, or 30. I only put that much voltage because this card seem to be running a much lower voltage than my old 290 where +200mw is like 1.266~1.28v (62% asic) while this one is 1.19~1.211v
