I would rather not install it if you think it is something else...
Max power draw should be around 1000W. Maybe it's more of a problem with the rail not supplying enough current?

Some power supplies have multiple rails you might want to check that with yours.

you also might want to check this out as far as power usage goes

Thanks for the quick answer. 1300w is the recommended in that chart. I believe the g2 has it all on a single rail.. Yeah box says 1299.6 watts on the 12v..

Finally got this installed. A little running around and some painstaking work to get the factory backplate on.

Check for dump files here. Not always created. If its not created chances are power.
C:\Windows\Minidump\Minidump.dmp. (might have dates and times on them of time of crash)

Find bluscreenview on the internet. Open dump file Might help you track down the problem.

Dump files are usually created at point of crash.

How did you do it? did you install it after or before the waterblock. I'd love to save 30$ and use my own backplate.

I'm going to be posting a short guide on how I did it in the "Lightning Thread". Some light modding was needed, but nothing too hard. Temps are great so far.

*Instructions are up for installing factory backplate with a EK waterblock for 290X Lightning.

Try just two of the cards instead of three. Depending on other system overclocks and hardware and the age of the PSU you could be over drawing yes. See how two goes, and if it still does it I'd say it's not the PSU (or maybe try one also?) that's the only way you'll really know haha.

My old PSU did it with two 7950's, that was 750W but it had degraded quite a bit.
