I also tried setting the power limit to +50% (at first in CCC, then in MSI AB), even tried setting fan speed manual to 100% just for the sake of it.

Sadly it doesn't seem to want to go to the proper minimum of 9xx MHz so I can raise my FPS above the current 17 FPS -_-'

Any tips, ideas or help would be much apreciated , I have searched this thread in which I saw someone else have the same issue but didn't find a solution to it.
I had a similar issue with BF4 when it first came out. Nothing would trigger my card to clock up and I had no idea why. I would just force the clocks to full with its profile in MSIAB and the problem eventually went away later.

How does one "force" clocks in MSIAB? I just set the core/memory clock a bit higher than stock with power limit on +50% and pressed apply, will that do? Or did you assign it to a profile and with some sort of setting made it stick? tongue.gif

try disabling ULPS in the Afterburner Settings.

For now my problems are solved though, time to enjoy some Metro LL, thank you very much! ^^
So now the clock stays stable however the GPU usage in MSIAB just keeps going up and down from 0 to 100 and back again. :') No Metro just yet for me! biggrin.gif

290 @ 1245/6500 w/ Elpida:
http://www.3dmark.com/3dm11/7941592

Can you do a run at 1200/6000 and show me your graphics score for 3dm11 P?
I an getting 17200 graphics score with tess OFF, I dont think 45mhz/125mhz more will bring me 3500 points up
also with 1220/5000 I get 17200.
Something wrong with my elpida?

on 14.4 drivers, 13.12 was similar never broke 18000.
I notice that sometimes my utilization drops to 95%~ but my clocks never throttle

Try updating to the newest Beta release of Afterburner, that old version you are using doesn't properly support Hawaii cards.

17200 is with tess on. to break 18000 with the 290 you gonna need around 1250. here is 1260 . . .

13.12 should work but not any of the 14 drivers except the leaked version or so i read.
