1. close Afterburner make sure you exit the program not minimize.

2. go into CCC remove the checkmark on ENABLE OFFICIAL overclocking press APPLY (setting it to stock settings). It does not matter if you had set some OC values as soon as you press UNCHECK they will be ignored. You can reset them if you like for peace of mind.

3. Make sure you pressed apply before. Now close CCC

4. Open afterburner

that's normal CCC is bugged for fan control. You have to use external software like afterburner, Trixx, or ASUS software to change fan speeds.

You don't seem to get it tho. Look at MSI AB. There is no slider for the fan, and there is no fan tab in the settings. I cannot set the fan curve! ALSO I CAN'T OC THE CARD!. I clocked it up to 1040 which is the cards own boosting mode but it refuses to let me do it. I tried everything I can think of and I'm curious if this is a bios bug? When I clock it up it only goes to 1030 in games.

ya you are right. I am lost on that one. Your card is not reference I missed that.
Best bet is to ask other users of that custom MSI card. I know they use different components on the board than reference boards.
Try messaging some people with the same exact GPU model as yours for advice on settings.

i am rolling back to 13.12 after these horrible new 14.4 drivers. Crossfire won't work I tried everything I could think off. Last good crossfire driver was 13.12 for me.

Single GPU worked amazing though and seems like it gave some FPS bonus for some games compared to 13.12. Well I will use 13.12 until 14.5 or better comes out.

Could this be my issue? http://www.tomshardware.com/news/msi-r9-290x-lightning-overheat,26557.html

I'm about to roll back to 13.12 and see if I can control my fan. That could be the issue!

Hi. I have r9 290 tri-x oc and memory clock always is 1300MHz, even in idle, when my monitor xl2411t run to native 144hz. I'm trying 13.2/14.3 beta and result is the same. Any fix for that? Thank you and sorry for my english.
