Just bought this: http://www.frozencpu.com/products/17500/thr-182/Fujipoly_Ultra_Extreme_System_Builder_Thermal_Pad_-_60_x_50_x_10_-_Thermal_Conductivity_170_WmK.html for my EK block. Its a shame I won't be able to use the extra or anything else.

used the coupon ocn, for a 5.1% discount.

I guess this is better than buying 3 EK backplates for my cards.

yah, baby!

edit: you gonna drain the system, then you might as well use this for the mem . . .

http://www.frozencpu.com/products/16878/thr-164/Fujipoly_Extreme_System_Builder_Thermal_Pad_-_14_Sheet_-_150_x_100_x_05_-_Thermal_Conductivity_110_WmK.html

and maybe a better paste for the core like gelid extreme if what you have is ordinary.

Roy the EK back plates help a lot. I was going to do the blocks without them and bit the bullet glad i did.Cause temps are way down down on the VRMS. VRM 1 is murder on these cards. Can cook bacon on them everything is better with bacon even video cards. thumb.gif

just saw the brackets and wondering where they attach to?and is it really necessary?
If I'm not mistaken, the reinforcing bracket useful if you have one card or doesn't use the EK bridge/terminal with multiple GPU.

Thanks. I have one D5 pump in there. The flow:-
res/pump >> CPU >> top radiator >> GPU's (with parallel EK terminal) >> bottom radiator >> front radiator >> res/pump

The bottom 120mm radiator really lower water temp a lot. I mean, without it, I can feel the reservoir & front radiator heat up. Now it juts feels warm when gaming & benching.

For that, i'm using windows display settings etc. Perhaps i will using 144hz, only while gaming and switch between 144/120 every day. This is so uncomfortable sadsmiley.gif

Yes this is basically what i do using my Qnix monitor since i sold my 2x Asus gtx660 cards in SLI which would down clock at 120hz on the desktop and bought my 2x R9 290 cards which can not down clock on the desktop at 120hz!.....However i have no trouble at all using my CCC presets which i have signed to keystrokes to flick from 120hz once i have finished gaming to either 60hz...96hz or even 110hz as all these resolutions will allow my R9 290 cards to down clock on the desktop!...

The Korean monitors we use are overclocked and so therefore there is no support for them at higher refresh rates other than our enthusiast community!...Also some of the Korean monitors can not hit 120hz its the silicon lottery gamble!....However you bought your monitor as a 144hz monitor and so therefore you can ask advice from BenQ and put your problem to them!

We use ToastyX CRU program ( Linked below ) to create EDID overrides for our custom resolutions where we can change our timings when we are creating our custom resolutions!....We use CRU because AMD Catalyst control Center does not support the creation of custom resolutions like the Nvidia control Panel does!....So using CRU would allow you to create new resolutions and timings!... However you will be taking a step into the unknown using CRU and messing with timings and i would not do this as you do not know the monitors pixel clock limit etc!...I believe if i was you i would get onto Benq support and ask for there advice as to why your GPU memory does not down clock at 144hz.!...They many well have a work around and a fix for you!...I hope this helps thumb.gif

Hey all,
My previous post got missed.
I have an issue:
1) Every game picks up the amount of dedicated VRAM @ 3072MB.
2) Every game picks up the second card as a Microsoft Basic Render Device.
Any help would be great, because this issue is bugging me.. smile.gif
Thank you.

Okay have you checked to be sure both cards are installed under hardware in windows. If one is and one is not install the amd driver of your choice on the second card or first card. That by the looks of things shows microsoft basic render device. You can try running DDU/Display driver unistaller and re installing your drivers. It sounds like the amd drivers are not installed on one of the cards. If you cannot install the drivers and you constantly see MBRD in windows hardware or screen keeps turning black staying black. do a RMA on the card. Thanks

DDU - safe for win 8 and 8.1

Having a quick look behind my gpu the standoff looks like it has made some sort of marks around the screw hole where the standoff goes into the case, is this normal?

those are some pretty cables. Looks like it is striped in there would need a better picture to be sure and are you talking about the stand off to the right side of the picture. The cables are creating shine.Could also be paint that was in the screw hole that was pulled threw by the screw.
