guys anybody knows if changing the tim on the reference design cards with something like mx4 will improve thermals ?!

Probably. I've heard they often put either too much or too little TIM on.

Check your warranty though, some companies (cough Sapphire cough) will void your warranty if they find out you did anything to the card except plug it in.

You will probably see a few degrees drop, nothing major though.

a degree or two, nothing earth shattering.

It depends on how poorly the stock tim was applied at the factory.

Sapphire refunded me, and i replaced the cooler with an AX III.

they have more of a "don't ask don't tell" policy imo

In my experience only non ref cards or cards with non ref coolers have good paste. I like noctua thermal paste myself. It dropped temps compared to AS5 by 2 or 3 c.
