can you give numbers for comparing? Can you verify gpu usage, and its not being throttled? Also maybe make sure during your bench to turn off and Overlay. Disable tessellation maybe?

They were both ASUS cards with the stock cooler but now they are rocking EK copper acetal water cooling blocks. keeps them temps nice and cool for that serious clock.

Congrats - added thumb.gifSnorkle.gif

and I can upgrade to it for free.

Now the question is, how can I fit 4 GPUs and a sound card in it. I have 16x risers, but I don't know if they are that flexible. Anyone know any simple tricks to make the cards single slot? The case has 9 PCI slots, so no limitations on that front

All my cards are watercooled with full cover blocks.
I don't think you can run 4 GPU's on that board. I could be wrong though. The second white PCIe x16 slot (x8 mode) seems remain active/enabled when the first white PCIe x16 slot (x8 mode) is occupied.

Have you tried keeping the Afterburner monitoring window open while you run the test so you can see if the clock speeds are dropping? Maybe try it with stock memory settings - the memory overclock may be too high and it is losing performance because of error correction? What are your scores stock? Are you sure the power limit increase is taking? Sometimes setting it in AB doesn't work - you should be able to look in CCC and see if it is showing +50% there. Have you tried Heaven, or 3DMark to see if they also show low performance?

I just ran Heaven at 1110/1350 at stock volts and I still got a low score. I also had AB open and my core clock stayed at 1110 the whole time.

Are you coming from a Nvidia card?

Did you reset the 3D application settings in CCC? Maybe you have something non-standard set there?

I'm on a fresh install on windows. And everything is default in the 3D app settings.

Have you tried 3DMark? Check the graphics score specifically - might tell you if it's the card or something else in your system. Otherwise maybe something else GPU specific, like ShaderToyMark or CompuBench?

Also, I freaking love this Vapor-X cooler.

what the frickety frack?! my msi twin frozr 7970 is not even in the same league. Running kombustor at stock my 7970 got to about 75C, and this cooler is SO much quieter.

That's a 15 minute kombustor run at stock clock (1030/1400). Holy balls is all I can say. Maybe the fact that I don't put on my side panel helps? But it only ever helped by a few degrees.

VRM1 temperature: 58C
GPU temperature: 60C

Room temperature: 23C

EDIT: Lol... I think I know why Noctua closed up the sides of the NH-D15 instead of having it fully open like the D14. All the hot air from the gpu is basically flowing through the D14 cpu cooler and as a result my cpu isn't being cooled very well. I went from 35-40 idle to 45-50 while running kombuster with overclocks (1135/1580).
