What's your target resolution?

I'm trying to decide between the two freesync LG Ultrawides, the 34UM67 and 29UM67. I just worry the 34 is much too large for my desk, and for its native resolution.

edit-Coming from a 21.5 I'm leaning toward the 29'', because it'll still be a sizeable increase. It's also not as expensive. I'd love to get the 34, but I'm primarily concerned about the pixel density, and secondarily concerned about its size. I think when/if curved 34'' 3440 x 1440 becomes more affordable, I'll upgrade to that. Thoughts?

I have no doubt about that. But you are simply having a bit of a conundrum there.

Like I said, your FX OC is mediocre. Your 4790K OC is good. And your 5930K at 4.6 is pretty stout that can match a 5.0GHz clock of the previous gen CPUs.

You can also add that your Intel mobos allow the card to run at PCIe 3.0 while the FX does 2.0. Firestrike alone shows at least 2 fps boast for Intels in my tests.

Now, game performance is a different story as it may vary from title to title. Esp. At 1080p. But as soon as you move to higher resolutions (multi-card, obviously) the CPU effect becomes less and less.

You are right about higher res, except for in GTA V, that game needs all the CPU power it can get to run fully maxed out in the advanced graphics.

if you seat about two feet from the monitor, then i suggest the 29. if the price difference isn't much, then go for the 34. back up a bit.

Having this super annoying issue where upon waking up from sleep mode, my OC settings keep clocks, but reset voltage to stock. (Using Afterburner.) That results in the memory OC being unstable and I get a black screen. And then I have to hard shutdown by holding down the power button. Anyone know what's causing this and how to get rid of it? It's a 290.

I'm in the same boat as you, I want an adaptive sync monitor, having a hard time choosing.

Those are 48-75Hz range freesync on the LG models. Seems rather narrow a refresh range. The Acer XR341CK has 30-75Hz range which is a lot better, but it's $1000+ so quite a bit more. But on the g sync side, the same Acer will get you 30-100Hz range. Seems unfair. But the 48Hz minimum on the LG freesync, I dunno about that.

do you have CCC part of the startup programs in msconfig? if yes, then i suggest unchecking it. that and raptr.

Oh duh. Totally forgot about that. With Trixx I always had to set a delay on the auto launch so it launches after CCC, or else CCC will launch after it and reset the volts. I'd like to not disable CCC or Raptr though, wonder how I can get around this with AB.

ok so I finished my ROM for 1100MHz/1500MHz.
GPU1- 1212v set in the dpm7
GPU2- 1250v set in the dpm7

Real max voltage is:
GPU1- 1.195v
GPU2- 1.234v

Would be nice to see how much volts ur 290X/390X needs for 1100/1500MHz clocks smile.gif

CCC will open like any other app even if not part of startup. raptr will require a reboot.
