If it has a CF profile use it. If it doesn't then it probably don't need special driver optimization for CF to work.

Well, after a forced downtime, i was able to fix the two things that have bothered me on my rig. First, the RAM Issue on my mobo (there was a small piece of plastic between the socket and the CPU) once i took that off i could get 28 GB to work flawlessly. If only i had one more stick of WonderRAM...

Second, i was able to get my 290X on water. At long last. The tri-X cooler is awesome as hell, but the noise when only 2 Gentle Typhoons at half speed are keeping everything under 55c is totally awesome. Wait, what noise? My pumps are noisier than the fans! biggrin.gif

Will see if i can tidy up the rest of the case then take some pics this weekend.

talking about watercooling, starting today I have two full cover waterblocks needing a new owner, an aquacomputer for the 290x ref and a EK for the 290x DCU II

They served me greatly biggrin.gif And now, one month to see what AIB rx480 can do, or If i will need to spend 100$ on a waterblock for the 230$ card (sickening lol)

Ask them if the $141 was a typo or not.

Ask them if they meant $441.

Pretty much just message them back and asked if that was a typo lol

I mean hell a 7950-7970 goes for almost that from looking on ebay....

first it was the 390 non x and now they went lower....

I know they have 390x in stock... heck i don't see why they wont send me the 480 when it releases,, the 8gb model seems like its going to be like 220-240... i did ask them about that.

Before that message i was told to contact tomH which i did message him which i also left a message on his voicemail and right after that like 10mins Grace Liao sent me the 141.00 message....

Yep that's pretty much what been going in my mind if they refuse to give a Equal replacement card for it i tell them send it back to me in there expense and i try baking it . i will not accept that low ball offer...

Really not sure why it died.. Like it would boot show everything right but when you try to install any drivers it would black screen. And on the next boot it would black screen after the widows loading screen.. tried it in another pc and also a fresh install of windows with the same issue..

Even tried re flashing the bios.. And no damage on the card which had me puzzled.. So it could be a bad solder joint which baking it might get it going again.. but sense it was under warranty i thought msi would've treat me good and replace it with the same card or a Equal replacement.. But so far its not looking good:(

Just sucks having this big fancy lightning box and certificate and no lightning...

So I'm at the same crossroads a lot of you have faced. My recent custom water cooled 290x tri-fire z87 formula vi 4770k died... Well the motherboard died. So I found a good price on a 5820k silicon lottery had a sale on an over clocked one. I just bought a case lab s8 to replace my modded 540 air, and to fit more radiators Into. I was just deciding on what x99 board to transfer my cards into ( deluxe II or Rampage Edition 10 I like pcie spacing m.2 location) when I stared to have second thoughts. I started thinking that my back up small ncase m1 with an impact z97 could be almost as fast as this trifire build with a newer single gpu. I do just enjoy the building part of it, but I could literally buy a new gsync or free sync monitor, new gpu, m.2 nvme ssd, and some nice new speakers. I do love my 290x's but we all know the practicality of more than one
