The Die will not melt. It will crack itself with too much Voltage when not cooled.

You don't need subzero cooling to tame these chips.

Caps and VRMs won't be damaged unless uou kess with their switching frequency.

+381 results in 1.6V under load on 2 of my cards under load! No load, higher.

My 290 has a VID of 1.18, 290Xs has 1.25ish each.

You need to classify these black screens. Momentary loss of the signal is die to high Voltages and clocks. (1300 MHz region usually)

If your card(s) loss the signal due to instability, lock-up, no recovery of the video signal, then it may be due to other things than Voltage and Hitting the limit. Maybe heat?

Do note that uneven thermal paste coverage can do this, so is mediocre PSU, high memory clcks too.

We can help uou if you are willing, you know. thumb.gif

true, the silicon would probably rupture before the solder could get hot enough, but I'm still very sceptical of your cards running at 1.6V and over. Do your cards have custom VRMs that can handle 400W and over?

Im not preaching over 1.4V FYI.

To get is straight, as long as you cool these chips, you can pump Voltages.

Heck, I pushed 1.6V to a GTX 780 just days ago on water. Temps didn't even break 40C.

And yep, AMD ref VRMs are the best you can find today. thumb.gif You just need to cool them properly.

Guys do you have any experience with the aquacomputer backplate for 290x? I have and msi gaming oc. The pcb is reference like, but with minor changes. I already have an xspc waterblock on it so I've bought the aquacomputer backplate but I doesn't fit. I mean, screws are ok and aligned, but on the power connector side of the card, it the vrm zone, there Are some caps or inductors soldering point that are a bit high and they touch the metal. The cut on the backplate is like 3mm further. Any advice?

I wouldn't suggest using the backplate at all as anything you could try could kill the card. However there's the one option of machining the backplate in the needed areas, but do you have at least a bench drill nearby for that?
