Have you run memtest and/or prime95? Do problems occur with only a single GPU in use? (unplugging the PCIe power cables can be useful here)

no i havent done a repair on the os...i run 40 runs of ibt avx on very high and 12 hours prime in both blend and small fts...so im pretty sure overclock is stable.

i havent ran memtest since i set everything up again but for prime see above...i havent gotten around to playing with just one gpu yet but im going to try that next...the last time i ran hci memetest it ran up to 1000 percent no errors...the memory never left the board when i switched to the primo...

You mention an overclock, have you tried full-stock? I'm wondering if your board may not be able to handle two cards as well as a CPU overclock...

If it runs properly with two cards and the CPU at stock then you could try bumping the PCIe and NB voltages a bit in your OC, and/or under-volting the 290's.

I'm running sabertooth...its done all the time...gpus are run at stock settings with only power limit increase...ran fine before with lesser cooling and same overclocks and at times pushing 1.6v...im sure the memory and cpu clocks are fine and work together beautifully...ram is stock with a slight overvolt for stability and cpu clock has been tested extremely thoroughly

I asked this in Lightning group but no concrete answer.

I have 290X Lightning, i5 6600 and FSP Raider 650W 80+ Silver psu... That should be enough right. But lately i've been noticing few "checkboard" artifacts (core) in new Deus Ex. It doesn't drop any artifacts in benchmarks so no point in RMAing because here (in Croatia) they just test 3DMark, Heaven, Furmark and stuff like that and if it's stable - it's stable.

So i've noticed antoher thing which may be connected. My voltage under load averages around 1.12-1.13V which is really low, because Lightning comes with +63mV and 1080core. And i saw that other people with Lightnings have around 1.2V on +63 so they can overclock it to around 1125MHz without touching voltage... I can't even make 1100 stable with stock clocks. So i thought that may be the reason of occasional artifact in games, because 1080MHz is probably on edge of 1.13V.

So obviously it's a huge Vdroop, but i want to know if it's a GPU or PSU problem ? I don't know anyone that is close enough and have good PSU to test it, but i also don't want to RMA it for no real reason. Is there anything i can do besides pumping voltage to like +200mV to get 1.2V ? That's not normal or safe

A 650 w Psu should have enough juice but it could be going bad. If you have another Psu connect it using paper clip and use it to power the card and see if the issues continue

Ok, i've tried my GPU in friends system with Thermaltake 750W PSU... And VDDC under load is still around 1.13V, but with his 12V rail is dropping all the way down to 11.2V. I don't even know how PC didn't shut down itself.

So i still don't know is his and mine PSU too weak for Lightning or it is actually a GPU problem :/

Long time since I've been in here but I gotta say I love the new look of the site ^^

Been getting a problem with my 290 as of late, At cold boot I'm getting horizontal tearing/Flickering from the windows login screen and into windows. It goes away as soon as I give it +25mV on the core (Havent tried less, it was what I put it at from the start)

Have not tried leaving it be to see if the tearing goes away by itself, is there anything you can do to make for example a +25mV change to the bios itself so it always gets that voltage?
