Looking to buy a new HDTV on a budget. Need advice.

Thread Starter
I'm looking to buy a new HDTV, as the one I'm using right now is pretty old, and I fear it's going to die pretty soon. Also, it technically isn't even mine. I'm just using it because it was there when I moved into my place. I'd like to actually OWN a TV! XD

I'm looking to buy an HDTV that's between 46-60 inches, but I'm on an incredibly tight budget of about $300-$400 CAD. The less I spend, the better.

There are only a couple HDTV's I'm looking at right now, and was wondering if either of them are worth getting. If anyone has any experience with these HDTV's I'm looking at, whether it be positive or negative, please post a comment.

I'm also very much open to suggestions. I'm not too knowledgeable when it comes to TV's, so that's why I'm posting this.

Best but doesn't have any plasma tv on their Canadian website? Weird. I have been told that samsung make the guts of the insignia for best buy.

That 39" has caught my eye many times before. My brother and sister in law have a 55' insignia. The only thing I was watching on it was cable. The picture was kinda meh.

Have you thought about Plasmas? My friend has a Samsung 51" and I had a chance to play around with it and it looked really well with whatever I watched on it(satellite, netflix or ps3).
