I'm in need of a new monitor and I am not particularly looking to replace my 32" 720p TV, but as I am planning on getting a PS4 I am thinking about getting an "All in one" solution.

I'm not quite sure how I would set my room up yet, but I am wondering how the TV would fair for programming/work and PC gaming. I may be stretching in my hopes here, but I play a fairly big mix of games from WOW, LoL, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat, and others. I will be programming in visual studios and playing exclusives on the PS4.

As 1080p is the current standard, I'm wondering if I'm just setting myself up to want a better monitor/other stuff later as standards increase. I am looking to be 5 feet away while pc gaming to a max of 8-10 feet while playing ps4 and such.

Would this still look decent or would I need a higher resolution to actually make this look as nice as I'd like it to?

I am thinking about this model because, it has a 2.6 response time which is pretty good by most standards. It's not as great as the super high end gaming model monitors, but it seems to strike a nice balance in price, size, and features.[URL=http://www.lg.com/us/tvs/lg-42LN5400-led-tv.[/URL] It's also under $400

My main concern is not being sure whether or not I will end up regretting not getting an IPS or 120 hz monitor, higher res monitor or something else... But, given all the different options *and* the fact that none of them seem to work for ps4, pc gaming, and so forth... I am wondering if this is the best medium or maybe there is something else that would work better.

*Edit* I got confused somewhere along the way (dyslexia) with about 3 different models. The model I am currently looking at is LG-42 LN5400 or LN5200 and I'm open to other model/monitor suggestions as well.
