Best single High-End GPU for 1080p, get 780 now or wait? - Page 9

780 still, to me, is the best option. My 780 is dominating BF4 at 1920x1080. It runs cold and the EVGA ACX cooler is whisper quiet.
I'm already seeing 780's under $500.

The performance difference between a 780 and 780 ti to me doesn't justify skipping a 780 at the $500 price point.

my 7950 maxed out BF4 (i mean maxed) at stock using 1080. $180 with 3 games that i haven't even claimed. i am really not sure why i have a 290 on the way. maybe 1440 in the near future.

edit: i forgot. i have a 1080 120Hz that i seldom use. moving the 7950 to crossfire with the 7970 becomes a chore. that's what the 290 is for.

I say 780. I was able to get a 780 sc BNIB for $490 on eBay last night smile.gif with free shipping. Pricing is definitely good right now.

I can only buy the Classified from the EVGA EU store. For some reason, it's the only card that hasn't received a price cut while all other 780's on their site dropped in price. The Classified is still at 699 Euros, I expect it to drop at around 550 Euros. The 780Ti is 657 and the SC edition is at 670 Euros. I guess I will have to wait and see what the new price will be. if it is around 550 I will probably go for it, if it is higher I might go for the Ti..

I've got a plain jane vanilla PNY 780 lifetime warrenty. And it wotks great, everything maxed. Metro LL Crysis3 they look and play good never an issue at 1080. But where I live the ambient temps are always around 80f. So my card does get up around 80c with the fan curve its set at. Fan runs around 70% too keep it there. To me its alittle loud but I'm used to the mod from here. Which I'll be doing when I get up the nerve to pull it apart. To me loud fans take away from the gaming experiance. that was one of my main reasons to get the780 and I dont like the idea of dumping all that heat back in the case. Referance cards may be alittle louder but I've never had a problem with them.
