Official GK110 vs. Hawaii Bench-off thread!

Current Score:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/pub?key=0AgLiKaiBbWsXdHc2eEp6X3lHYXVBZTJFZ0VEUUl3UUE&output=html&widget=true

Point system explained:
A user can only hold 1st, 2nd, 3rd, etc. per resolution or per synthetic benchmark. That means for any game benchmark there are 5 possible resolutions, meaning 5 possible points per benchmark for each user. We then give extra props to the users who has the current most 1st place points, 2nd most, etc..

Benchmarks:
Synthetics:
  • 3DMark 11 - Performance
  • 3DMark 11 - Extreme
  • 3DMark (2013) - Firestrike
  • 3DMark (2013) - Firestrike Extreme
  • Unigine Heaven
  • Unigine Valley
Games:
  • Batman: Arkham City
  • Bioshock Infinite
  • Hitman: Absolution
  • Metro 2033
  • Metro Last Light
  • Resident Evil 6 (Benchmark Tool Under Steam Library / Tools)
  • Sleeping Dogs
  • S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat
  • Tomb Raider
Source Benchmark:
  • For the lulz, either L4D2 or HL2:EP2. (Relevant due to STEAM Machines.)
Note: We may use the Adrenaline Benchmark Tool, those crazy Brazilians have a few integrated benchmarks, for the likes of Crysis 2/3, Grid 3 etc. They also verify/store scores online akin to 3DMark.
http://benchzone.adrenaline.uol.com.br/

Benchmark Categories:
Both sides points will be accumulated in main post (for fun) to see how many total "1st Places", "2nd Places", etc. are Green or Red.

Single GPU
  • 1920x1080
  • 1920x1200
  • 2560x1440
  • 2560x1600
  • 5760x1080
SLI / CrossfireX
  • 1920x1080
  • 1920x1200
  • 2560x1440
  • 2560x1600
  • 5760x1080
Tri-SLI / TrifireX
  • 1920x1080
  • 1920x1200
  • 2560x1440
  • 2560x1600
  • 5760x1080
Restrictions:
Every submission will be accepted, as long as the proof and submission is in the correct format. Everyone is on the honor system. If an AMD user suddenly has +20% performance in a benchmark that his/her fellow users don't have we will know Tessellation is off. That user will be asked to re-run the benchmark. I am sure nVidia control panel has a few "hackeries" possible that would boost scores. We will all keep each other in check. Anyone has the right to call out another users submissions (within reason) and we will give that user a little more scrutiny.

Submission Format (Non-Specific):
Screenshots Should Contain
  • Benchmark Results (preferably with the OSD of Afterburner / Precision / Trixx / GPUTweak on)
  • A GPU-Z open per GPU (with different GPUs selected on each one).
  • 2x CPU-Z open for the main page and memory.
  • Your OCN Username.
Post Contents Should Contain
  • CPU Model, Frequency, Voltage
  • GPU Vendor, GPU Model, GPU Frequency, MEM Frequency, Power Target, Core Voltage
  • GPU Referenced / Non-Reference
  • Cooling (Air, H2O)
  • Driver version.
  • OS (Win 7 x64, Win 8.1 Pro x64, etc.)
Any Verification Links:
  • 3DMark
  • Adrenaline
Benchmark: 3DMark 11 DGPU

Benchmark: 3DMark Firestrike SGPU

Benchmark: Unigine Heaven 4.0

Benchmark: Unigine Valley 1.0

The point of this thread is to determine how fast GK110 and Hawaii based cards are relative to each other at maximum overclocks. Everyone can post their benchmarks, discuss the cards, participate in some friendly banter (no swearing or fanboy calling btw) and watch the fireworks. Of course we want to keep the thread informative so don't go overboard with off topic-stuff like those pesky folders usually do. Hopefully we'll find people who are interested in comparing their cards!

How it works?

1) OCN users post their benchmarks
2) The best score for each card gets added to a graph comparing the cards
3) Once a new best score for one category is posted, the graph for the specific bench is updated (along with the average if there is one)

Raw Data (best scores atm) :

Rules & Restrictions

Allowed performance tweaks:
  • control panel settings (minus tesselation)
Banned performance tweaks:
  • Tesselation disable
  • LOD
  • etc.
What to include in your post when posting a score:

  • GPU clocks (core/mem) separately for each benchmark
  • CPU clocks separately for each benchmark

suggestions/ideas/questions:
-again different categories?

Additional notes:

So we've got a day or two before people start getting their cards. Probably a week or so until waterblocks start dropping so it would be great if rules and the sort would be clear before that happens. So I welcome all suggestions about benches, rules, categories, and pretty much everything. I'd just like an active thread with tons of good info. Hopefully we'll have enough people with interest in this and it wont die right away.

If there's enough interest I'll be updating the thread a lot during the next few days.

I'll be off for a few hours in a couple of minutes so I'll start properly updating after that.

tyvm. And yes ought to be interesting.

My 290x should be here Friday - though I'm only posting for reference for other amd cpu owners as my 8350 will probably keep me back quite a bit from anywhere near the top

It's fine. I can always add an AMD CPU section, spoiler or something to the OP to give FX owners a place of their own.

Nah, that would be borderline too complicated. For synthetic benches (3dmark) we'll just use graphics scores instead of the normal overall scores. Everywhere else the highest scores that'll eventually get here should all be made with a fast enough CPU that it wont bottleneck. Besides, participation would probably go way down if everyone always needed to re-OC their CPU to post benches...

And there aren't really canned benches of games where the cores of say expensive X79 procs would really help.

But obviously since I'll be listing raw data for different bench runs everyone who looks at the info can make a conclusion of their own.

Cool ! I'd be more than happy to pitch my 780SLI vs 290x CF .......

I think the 290x is already at its OC limit.

EK has stated they got 1200/1600 on their card with their waterblock on it.
iirc they said 1200/1600 was easy with no voltage increase. If true, Hawaii is going to be a monster when OCed.

Hopefully people here get them before the weekend.

How did wizzard make a voltage scaling graph without voltage control?

Isn't uber mode supposed to increase volts, fan curves, tdp limits etc?
