This. I tried motionjoy and I though it was a pain. I found someone who wrote a wrapper to make the computer think its an xbox controller, and it works perfectly. I can link to the instructions, took me about 10 minutes to set up and I'm using it through bluetooth. You can keep the wire plugged in if you didn't want to deal with wireless.

You should be able to get a ps3 controller for around the same price and it would make ps1 games so enjoyable. And its a very durable controller.

X360CE, google it, it's what I used back in the day to get arkham asylum to work with my usb Playstation-wannabe controller and other console ports, worked flawlessly.

Another vote for an XBox 360 controller. I just pulled two from my Xbox 360 I wasn't using any more and picked up a wireless dongle thingy from ebay.

Works flawlessly although when installing the drivers, Win7 never picked up the right drivers initially and I had to go in and search for the downloaded drivers. Once you direct the install to the right place, it works fine. I had to install the wireless thing and the controller separately.

Yeah i can definitely recommend the Xbox wired or wireless controller as well both are excellent. Years ago i never thought i would but now i definitely prefer the design of the Xbox to that of the Playstation controller. Also there are loads of supported games for it now outside of Emu. Actually this has really got me in the mood for some Emulator sessions. Wired is always going to be better imo but if for some reason the cable bothers you then both are pretty good, i recon they will drop in price soon due to the Xbox One release.

I too never thought I'd own the actual xbox 360 controller, since I was just using x360ce and it's ini for each console port, then I actually held one. Loved it, but the dongle I feel is kinda expensive, so I got the wired one and just tie wrapped the long cable since I play at my desk. Just plug in and every multiplatform game recognizes, no more configuring, no more ini's and I love it. Newegg I think was having a sale for the wired ones. Wired one much easier to install too, just let windows update detect and install the drivers.
