GTX 760 sli cool top card

Thread Starter
My top card runs at 87-88c when stress tested, bottom card runs at 77-78c so around 10c cooler when stress tested, what is the best way to cool the top card? On my mobo it has a third pci slot but the bottom card won't fit in due to the case being too small as the psu is in the way, would the best thing to do to buy a larger case and put the bottom card in the 3rd pci slot so theirs more airflow between both cards?
there referencer coolers
case is Zalman z9 plus redface.gif

Buying a larger case may be the best way but it might not be necessary or cost effective. Do you have intake fans on the side as well?
You may also want to try putting in some high speed fans before blowing $150+ on a full tower case.

from looking at your case it has a fan on the side window, you could try putting a higher cfm fan there and experiment with having it as intake or exhaust.

If I'm not mistaken, on the z87 Extreme4, the bottom PCIe x16 slot only runs at x4, so that would be a no-go, since Nvidia requires x8 at minimum for a card to be in SLI. Your best bet is mounting a fan that blows directly into the fan (fans if you have the ACX version) of the top card.

The Z9 isn't exactly the greatest case for airflow either. And I don't think you can dremel the HDD cages out of the case (since you seem to have only SSDs) as it looks to be a part of the case's structural support.

The bottom slot on you motherboard is Pci express 16 in an X4 configuration, I don't think that board will support SLI in the bottom slot. I think it has to be an X8 slot. I would double check before spending money on a case that wont make a difference. If you want better temps maybe a custom fan profile is in order for your cards through EVGA precision X or MSI afterburner.
