The harsh truth is that as long as the consumers aren't getting the hard-fall, then little harm is done. A company's morals and ethics will have a much less substantial effect then other factors. When I ('I' representing the general consumer consensus) am looking to buy a phone, the processing power/battery life/x feature has a much more compelling effect that the company's ethical standpoint (in terms of factors affecting purchase).
Another thing, please don't act like this is an extremely offensive way of marketing. In contrary to Samsung's competitors, this is child's play. Some companies will go to extreme lengths to make money; Samsung just got caught with their pants down.
No. No they do not. Not even remotely close.
They have competitors with the nearly-same, same, or better performance, higher quality, and cheaper options. In nearly every product bracket.
Only reason they do well is because they have a marketing budget that rivals damn near all of their competitors combined. Not because they have "THE best products on the market".
