Upgrade video card...

Thread Starter
Can anyone speak to this upgrade...

I currently am running an EVGA 7600gt in my system.

My thoughts after getting some advice around these boards, are to get another gig of the same ram I am running, and upgrade my video card to the BFG 7950gt.

Would this give me a very big boost in performance, and would it be worth it? The upgrade would cost more than $300.00. Thanks.

Currently I am getting 3dmarks at like 3100 with 3dmark06...

I think you could benefit very much from that upgrade, but the 7600gt is still a good card. If you have the cash maybe look for x1950pro, 200 bucks!

First get a 2x1gb set and sell your current ram (AMDs dont like 4 sticks). Then use your extra money and save it until you can afford a DX10 card IMO. 7600gt will hold you fine until then

Well, I just saw a X1900XT go up on newegg for $200, and if you aren't aware that's a VERY good deal.

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...82E16814142085

If it doesn't get sold out I'm going to buy one. But it seems all the 256MB versions of the X1xxxXT series get sold out very fast.
