I have 8Mbit Comcast cable. I currently get between 3300KB and 3500KB down. This is about 25 Mbit a second is this even possible? I downloaded a 1.5 GB file in about 5 minutes and it was not corrupted. Has anyone else experianced this?
My connection has been on crack ever since it was installed. It's a 6 Mbps line. There's really no point in paying extra for an 8 Mbps line when I already get awesome speeds.
Then why is it that when I torrent anything or download files off the internet I never get over 600KB/s down speed? (even when I'm downloading 50 or more files at a time, that should easily saturate my connection but I'm ALWAYS capped at 600 down, yet somehow this test shows 4400?

Are you sure it is 4.4 MB or 4.4 Mbit there is a difference. 4.4 Mbit is about 600KB a second down. 4.4 MB is about 40,000KB a second!
I set up my grandmother's internet the other day(Comcast) and I went to Speakeasy just to see how lucky she was. 24,000 Kb/s, which is roughly a 3MB connection. To see what the actual speed is, I went and downloaded something and got 2MB average.
I'm somewhat lucky with 13,000 Kb/s and get 1MB/s DL speed. It's nice...

That sounds about right to me. Considering you made a typo and really meant 4.4Mbits/down. 4400KBytes/8=550KBytes/s . It should actually be a little higher. I just rounded it. If you didnt make a typo the site or software you used to get your speed is probably not accurate.
For instance I have 6.0Mbit DSL, I really get like 5.2. When I download from fast resources I get a little over 600KBytes/s.

I get 5.5 meg down/1 up because i have wireless ...the pc downstairs which is wired to the router gets like 8 down/1.5 up...not bad to bad since we are paying for 5 meg down/1 up
I get 4711 kbps down and 445 kbps up.... but that is on a wireless G link. My system when wired directly to the modem (no router) gets around ~9mbps down and ~700 kbps up.
