I was planning to pick up an HD 7750 before their impending discontinuation, but I figure it's best to check if Nvidia has a comparable offering first wink.gif

Depending on what game you play, a GTX 650 will be a little bit quicker (it trades blows with a 7750, while running a bit cooler at the expensive of a bit more power)

Is there a single slot GTX 650 that doesn't require a 6/8-pin power connector? Most of the ones I see are double slot or have fat coolers that make them effectively double slot, and the specs never mention whether or not external power is required.

After further research, I ended up going with an HD 7750. With the clearance discounts on all Southern Islands cards right now, most HD 7750s are $70-$95, whereas the cheapest GTX 650s start at $100.
