PLEASE help a noob get a slgiht RAM overclock

i read in a corsair article that 1866mhz is the 'sweet spot' for haswell, so i figure i may as well get there; i trust this tidbit more than i do their bf4 beta graphs. it doesnt seem like it should be difficult at all yet i either fail to boot or boot @ 1600 when messing around in the bios. ive googled a bit but apparently not well enough..it seems like this should be simple, which is whats so frustrating. mobo & RAM are in my sig.

I've never had any luck overclocking Vengeance RAM either. I had a 1600 MHz, 8-8-8-24, 1.5 V kit and no matter what I did (pushed more voltage up to 1.65 V, loosened timings, etc...) I just could not get it going to 1866 MHz - my board wouldn't even POST.

Not that I want to discourage you, but from what I've read up on the Vengeance kits it sounds like there just isn't much for extra head room on them. sadsmiley.gif
