Help overclocking a 7990

Thread Starter
Hey guys just need some help with my gigabyte HD 7990. I got it when they were clearing them out with the intent of overclocking after I finish my build. Well I am 90% done with the build and after seeing the 290x reviews I am very happy with my purchase. Now I just need too know what my options are. If anyone could help me out and let me know how I can overclock it would be very help full. I would really like to do a modified bios flash with higher volts and get higher clocks in the CCC, but not I am not tosure if that is possible. I did that with my 6950 and was able to unlock and get them to 950 on air cooling. Plus I like the fact I didn't have to start up five programs to have my over clock.

System,

Win 8.1
3930k 3.8 ATM
raider 240 PCIE SSD
Corseir dom 2133 9-10-11-29 t2
water-cooled GPU, CPU, MB

Well I look forward to your help thanks in advance guys!!

Maybe consider a modded Sapphire Trixx? The modded version lets you control the memory voltage. It's a single program that lets you overclock/overvolt without all the hassles of MSI Afterburner.
MSI Afterburner 3.00 lets you overclock & unlock clocks/voltage

or you can use vbe to mod the bios?

VBE7.0.0.7b.zip 550k .zip file

what temps are you getting on your 7990 under water & what block do you have? im interested as I will be doing mine soon.

Cool guys thanks for the answers, I have a single loop with the CPU MB and GPU all in one block. The GPU is last in the loop and I see between 30-38 C in gaming. I have the EKWB, it is the nickel actycal with black top. It works very good for me. Now with this File is it a modded bios? or is it just a program to modify the bios?

I think 7 series cards bios cannot be modded. Like ati bios editors wont work with any 7 series card.

they can! I was put onto it by a member on here! he says he modded his bios

http://www.techpowerup.com/forums/showthread.php?t=189089

I have not used it as AB works for me, just use AB & in settings unlock voltage / enable unnoficial overclocking.

if your voltage locked though it should let you change voltage as long as its supported?

I'll have to check out that VBE when I get home. I have a Visiontek 7990 and have locked voltage so far even after 4 different BIOS.
