first time posting. need a new laptop

Thread Starter
Hi,
I want to buy a new laptop from NCIX. My budget is under $1000 before tax. I want to play dota 2 on max and crysis 2 on medium. I want it to be 1080p on a 15 inch screen. And the weight should be under 5 pounds. I want a 1 tb hard drive. Nothing is set in stone except the price. Thanks!

Edit: I'm looking at this right now

Those are the options I saw on NCIX at your price point.

EDIT: you can usually get the Lenovo notebooks much cheaper from lenovo. Especially if you are a student. I suggest you wait for the next holiday to buy a laptop

I'd say the

http://us.ncix.com/products/?sku=83177&vpn=NX.M8SAA.002&manufacture=Acer&promoid=1145

Most of the Lenovo machines are pretty poor when it comes to hardware specifications for what you want, the one I linked at least has modern hardware, and suits most of your requirements, although it's a 17" screen, plus it's still below your price point so I think it's your best option

I have to agree with the 760m equipped Acer.

Here is the Canadian link if you need it. It is showing $960cnd, original $1035cnd [US $899/$999].

It is worth swinging the extra $35 if you have to.

I visited NCIX and they introduced me to this one. I am willing to pull some more money out for a good performance boost.

http://www5.ncix.ca/products/index.php?sku=91349&vpn=GE60%202OD-251US&manufacture=MSI

but the only problem is that it says HD not FHD so I`m not sure if it is 1080p or not even though many people say it is. I`m just not sure if there`s a special version that doesn`t have 1080p. The sales man said that it did have 1080p but the NCIX page says otherwise. Also, can anyone comment on its build quality and its cooling?
