Overclocking order

I am running a 3570K and a gtx 760. Should I overclock the cpu or the gpu first? Is there a order that should be followed?

I would overclock the CPU first. Once you get that stable then move onto the GPU.

Use Intel Burn Test, LinX Linpack for testing stability on CPU overclock

For GPU use Heaven Benchmark, and Valley to test for stability.

I used the oc genie on my msi board and it took it to 4.2ghz. with 1.120v. Seems to be the norm for oc genie. Now to find a starting point for my GPU!

Never use any auto overclock feature. Learn to overclock manually. List the specs of your rig or fill out rigbuilder so we can point you to the right Guide.

Also, you have to stress the overclock to see if its stable. You dont just input settings or use an autooverclock feature and expect it to be safe or stable.

I filled the rig builder out...don't know why you cant see it. I also ran the stress test and it came back as stable. I know its not ideal to use on board overclocking but I haven't found specs for anything close to my system that I fill comfortable using. I would love the help though.

Figured out the rig builder.

Those are a few different overclocking guides, none of them are specific to your motherboard but all or most of the settings should be the same. Read through the material, and try to absorb as much information as you can. Follow the basic guidelines and you will have yourself overclocking manually in about an hour. With your cooler you should be able to reach a 4.4-4.5GHz overclock pretty easily.

Good Luck.

Here are a few GPU overclocking guides for the GTX 760:
