I'm talking to tech support now. I hope there is a BIOS update, but I'm nervous to even turn it on right now. I don't want to compromise any chance of RMA or refund.

Update:
RMA'd motherboard via newegg and hooked everything back up using the replacement motherboard. Same thing. Tech support told me that it was the temperature diode on the motherboard that was defective. Could it be the processor?

It is probably the motherboard. I would put a small mark somewhere in the box like underneath the motherbboard holder with a marker like just a dot or something then rma again to see f there sending you the same motherboard back. Have had newegg do that once. If not ask in the club for that mb if there is one.

This is ridiculous. I have no idea what to do. In one scenario I have the same faulty motherboard. In another they replaced it and it's functional, but my processor isn't. Meanwhile my replacement period is running out and I have no definitive answers.

I highly doubt your processor is actually running that temp...have you a buddy nearby that would let you run your chip on their board? It could also be the sensor on die if both boards are showing ridiculous temps. Have you actually posted to windows on this set up?

Can you RMA the chip? Solar0978 had a good suggestion with the dot thing if you have to RMA again.

Sadly I don't know anyone that can help me test the components. I'm just talking to tech support then I'll contact newegg. Definitely will leave a small mark to check for
