[Overclockers] AMD Radeon R9 290 performance revealed - Page 8

The card may end up faster then what is shown here as I posted a link in another forum that I know they are reviewing the card as we speak and AMD released another driver just for R 290 as to delay the release to counter Nvidia.. the person doing the review only said (You will like. ) which backs the leaks up and more.

Also thinking R 290x is been held back till 780Ti is released as this is a chess game to AMD to get Nvidia to react before showing the real deal.

I bring news of 290 scores from overclockers.co.uk - enjoy

Bench was done on W7 so expect higher scores if this was done on W8.

Only tested on 290 Pro and 290X, improvements on both in everything.

Card was MK26 cooled, to get 1220 core and 6400MHz RAM.

MK26 cools core better, but VRM and RAM not as good as stock cooler.

Stock cooler managed 1200/6600 for reference.

I am not really surprised; I think most people that followed these new cards closely expected the 290 to fall between 5% and 10% of the 290X, but at a nice discount.
