Anyone else get this?
My computer failed to boot, auro repaired, got to desktop, says r9 280 series adaptor invalid.

Look at gpuz and I have R9 200 series card apparently. Anyone else get this? Checked windows update, nothing installed recently.

What drivers are you running? Did you download the newest ones?

I'd probably go with an uninstall, driversweeper and then install the newest drivers.

Beta 3, so yeah newest drivers. But I installed them a week ago. This only happened this morning. Very odd.

Strange... Have you flashed your cards with another bios at all?

No bios flash, stock. Showing as R9 200 series in GPUz, Trixx & device manager. Very strange lol. I hope my cards still work ok, didn't get a chance to check. May force me to upgrade GPUs. tongue.gif

Btw the stock clocks are unchanged, still 925/1375.

Is it possible that perhaps a "tune up" program has altered your registry files somehow?

Edit: Given the circumstances I am 99% sure that it's something to do with your registry files.

Or, a program has messed with your drivers (unlikely).

I would try and un-install all drivers in safe mode, restart, and then re-installing them.

Nah I don't have any junk on my pc. It's no big deal really as long as the cards work, just didn't have time this morning to check that.

Maybe God answered me when I was saying I would really like some R9 cards, but I really should have been more specific on the model. tongue.gif

They seem to be working fine. Get a message on desktop upon boot, SMB invalid display adaptor R9 200
