R9 290X f@h ppd results! - Page 6

thanks frag tongue.gif

with my results it work out around 10k extra ppd per ~50mhz overclock.

So you'd need ~1150mhz core clock for 200k ppd!

Imagine a nice clocker running @ 1250MHz. drool.gif
Especially if it preserves linear scaling (which I doubt a bit tongue.gif)

Looks like the 290x is not gonna be allowed into the gpu-e slot at this rate tongue.gif

This makes me want to get my hands on a 290X even more... AWESOME gaming card, and not a bad folding card by a long shot

Too bad the earliest shipment of 290X's are still 2 weeks away from me:sad-smile

Wow, that's a surprise. All other results I've seen were pretty disappointing. Maybe the other cards were throttling. Thank the weather for once tongue.gif.

Or do you just have a good run on the project? Sam gets 194k on some p8900 at 1228MHz I think.

Could you not order from overclockers.co.uk or another EU seller?

On the folding note, im gonna wait firstly until my dead gpu is returned/repalced before i go any higher, and then wait for the aferburner update to provide unlocked voltage, then ill try upping the clocks again.

Im adament I can break 200k with this thing though, as much as knuckle said it cant be done ha tongue.gif

@blade - I think its probably down to throttling. Until we see the drivers and msi AB updated I dont think we will know the true potential of this card. That and a waterblock fitted to boot!

Wow, nice results.  Glad you got your rig back up, just in time for some BF4?  Or folding, glad to see you chose wisely.

I wish... Even if I could get a card excl. tax EU side, the sales tax on my side (14%) plus customs charge would have put it quite a bit out of my budget. Also shipping to South Africa is not the cheapest... I'll wait impatiently for local stock...
