Your usage scenario is atypical. Running F@H already demands considerably more power than simple gaming, and on top of that you're loading your PC 24/7 vs (I hope for your sake) no more than 6 hours a day.
And while it's true that a graphics card can make a noticeable difference on your power bill, a small ~30W difference between two different models (ie 680 vs 7970, TITAN vs 290X) makes a remarkably insignificant difference. That's not to say that the >200W of power that either of them would consume is insignificant, just the difference between them.Edited by Usario - 10/25/13 at 6:26pm
