GTX 670 Folding WU Question

Thread Starter
I started folding again about a week ago, and initially I was very surprised to see that each of my 670's were averaging up to 100k ppd each. I was happy to see that bonus points had finally been put in place for gpu folding. Now, however, my cards are only pulling 8018 WU's which are getting me about 18-19k ppd each. Is there any way I can request the newer WU's that reward bonus points? IIRC the good units were 7810's and 7811's. Any help would be greatly appreciated as I would like to get the most out of my folding. smile.gif

Change the client-type from advanced to beta. Note that you won't get any support from the official forum if you do so, and you run the risk of encountering more issues than you would on advanced.

How would I do that?

Open FAHControl. Click Configure->Slots tab->click on the GPU slot->Edit

Down at the bottom there's a section for Extra slot options. You should already have client-type set to advanced, as core17 projects (8900, 7810, and 7811 ) haven't gotten a full release yet and are restricted to the advanced and beta flags. In that case, double-click on the Value field and change that from advanced to beta, and make sure to hit enter. Then hit OK/Save, and starting with your next WU you should be back to all core 17 projects.

If somehow you don't have any client-type set, then click on the Add button and add one with client-type in the name field and beta in the value field, then hit OK/OK/Save. If this is the case, check if you have client-type set in the Expert tab. I'm not sure what happens if it's set in both places, but you'd probably want to remove the one in Expert.

Thanks a lot for the help! I added the beta flag and restarted the clients and they have both picked up good WU's now. +rep. thumb.gif
