Buying new ram, need suggestions

Hello. I built a system for a friend about a year and a half ago and he wants to add more ram. right now he has 1gb (2x512mb) of OCZ pc-4000 VX Gold in a DFI SLi-DR motherboard. i'm pretty sure he cant buy another two sticks of what he's got but he doesnt want to spend the money on completely replacing them. anyone got idea or suggestions on what brand/model he should go for? thanks a ton.

I'm not quite understanding your post. He can't buy another set, but he doesn't want to replace them....Sorry if I'm just having a brain fart right now, but anyway, best thing would be to sell what he has and get 2x1GB, and 4x512 would stress the mem controller.

sorry for not being clear. he would want to buy another two sticks of what he has, but OCZ doesnt produce them anymore. hope that clarifies things a little.
