Thread Starter
I'm trying to get my sli 670 to work. I have an Asus sabertooth z77 and I need some help getting my 2nd pci-e port to work. When I go into the bios, it says pcie_2 not present but both cards individually work when i use the 1st port. Any ideas

It sounds like you have a bad slot. sadsmiley.gif

When setting up SLI on my Sabertooth Z77, there was nothing special I had to do - just install the second card, install the bridge and update drivers.

also check your Bios I thought you also set the PCIX16 mode too. Under advance Bios

Yea it might be a bad port because I bought this open box, and when I have the second card in, the 1st port changes to x8 from x16 but the second port still says not present

I guess you are using the Brown port and not the black one as a second port right?

Try cleaning the port pin and checking if are doing contact.

Hmmm a little brush and maybe some alcohol so you can remove the dust from it. Also look if there any pin bent that is not doing contact. And you can check also the contact to the MB, but it will be difficult to fix.

In any case if you don't see anything wrong and you are still on guaranty just RMA it.
