I have today just installed the New AMD R9 290X into my PC. When I launch an full screen application or windows need authorization to a program my screen will go to sleep and then quickly wake back up. What could be the problem here?

Mine is doing this aswell Chris with my 290x. At first I removed all my nvidia drivers, then did all my AMD drivers, then I installed the AMD drivers again from the CD.

Have a look in MSi Afterburner, I bet your gpu usage is at 100% even though its idle?

Check out the amd/NV driver removal guide in the 290x owners club mate

Also my gpu is getting wierd flashes on screen too during benching, so im gonna do a full windows reinstall tomorrow. You;d think AMD would have made a day 1 driver ready wouldnt ya? rolleyes.gif

Thanks Ill have a look. Im using the Sapphire Card but when in in GPUZ im getting between 0% and 1 %. Hopefully reinstalling the drivers will sort this problem out
