Well, my video card won't get run on more than 4 lanes and the PCIe bandwidth I can achieve confirms that GPU-Z etc read it correctly. But as I've said, can't be sure yet it is my CPU or maybe something else.

You know, I tried something similar. I don't have a vice but I put it against a marble edge and tapped the flat head screw driver positioned against the IHS. I didn't give. The glue on this particular cpu was much harder to overcome than the 3770k I delidded.
