to compare. Period. Nine months is a long time in Tech and you know it. Sounds like you'd love to see Titan owners turn on Nvidia just for your own spite.
You bring up "the $1000 titan". We admit, none of us would buy a 1st gen Titan in "OCT" for $1000 when the new cards are upon us from both vendors. We admit it. Competition is here. Great for us all. Get out of the time machine, You are not stuck at February 2013, so please stop acting like it. We've seen more mature posts from you. That said, Nvidia did what many companies have done in the past with no competition at a certain quality/performance level that's lacking from another vendor.
The R9 290X is the best thing to happen since the Titan's level of performance in bringing AMD to the same game. So in October, Nvidia is forced to bring in a newer card at a "Competitive"
price point. Otherwise people will jump ship, and they'd really like to keep the shareholders happy...
Just for those that care...
So if Nvidia had 8 months as the outright single GPU performance King, will AMD capture it for 1 to 2 months, then we swing back to Nvidia?
Boy, what in gods name are you rambling about? Personal finances and security in them? I highly doubt you want to compare your finances to mine...........
Now back to the actual topic at hand; 780 Ti, and it's price, compared to the current Nvidia lineup. Where does it fit in?

Water block is about $100, then again it isn't really needed. The crazy hot temp people are running around talking about is the card running in Quiet mode, with a very low fan speed, and/or was in Furmark.
The temps aren't as high as people claim with a decent fan speed and normal usage.
As for being ridiculous? Not at all, don't you remember Fermi and the GTX 480? In the end, TDP is TDP......I think people don't realize that.Edited by PostalTwinkie - 10/26/13 at 12:53pm
