So 27-30in Gaming monitors

Thread Starter
Looking to replace my 22in w/5ms response time to something better for gaming. I'm guessing thats going to take me into the 120/144Hz range. Looking at newegg I only see a few options and I'm kinda ehhhhh about Asus monitors. So what else is out there, should I hold out for a bit or what? Seems as though TN panels are the ones who can do 1-2ms but their colors are lacking? Is there any standouts? I really don't want to spend over $400 either so maybe I'm dreaming. All I know is there a ton of options people are putting out there and it's kinda hard to decide. I have no interest in buying a Korean monitor off of ebay.

Yep u n me on the same boat. We gotta keep dreaming. I was gonna go with 27" korean IPS+ overclock to 120fps route but I am going to wait for g sync equipped IPS panel. Thats my current wish-list. Everything else seems like a waist of money.

If you're intrested In high response times and fast refresh rates other then asus. The market is pretty limited at 27-30inches. To me personally, the pixel density at 1080p is just not high enough to justify the price. Quality of picture means much more to me.

I think for $400 you could get a much better 24" 120hz with better color quality and a higher pixel density. Is there any specific monitor you're intrested in at your price range?

For the money a BenQ xl2420te fits everything you're looking for except its 24".

Does Gsync work with AMD cards/ when are Gsync monitors set to come out? Is it just like vsync 2.0 with higher framerate? I wonder about input lag which I notice with vsync.

24 not quite worth the upgrade, what else is out there I guess comparable to the BenQ xl2420te but larger? I just hate to buy something with awesome response time but colors look drab.

G-sync will not work on AMD cards. I hope AMD can make their own version If it's any good.

There's also a xl2720t but don't know the price
