Forgot to answer your question on AISuite vs BIOS. I'm setting base settings in BIOS and booting into windows and running stress tests. if it fails I use AISUITE to bump voltages and try again. Once I find a spot within 1-2 voltage clicks that is stable I reboot and set those settings in BIOS, rinse and repeat

I tested my power supply voltages with a mutlimeter last night and i didn't see any huge flucuations or anything alarming.

I do get lockups if I move voltage above 1.48 but that may be do to heat on the VRMs if that is my Actual issue.

I have a post in the AMD CPU forums about the throttling I'm receiving...is that the correct place? Appreciate the help, this has been super frustrating. I bought the water cooling because with rebate it was only $20 more and all the benchmarks i've seen show this thing as one of the top AIO water coolers, and it really is doing its job, my core temperatures are never anything to worry about. It's always socket or maybe VRM.

Wonder if radio shack stocks a thermal heat tester I could grab

I'd have to look at my settings to be able to tell you what differences I have.

Yeah, that forum works or the AMD>General forum works as well. People will help you!

Well from what I just read I don't think I'll have big issues. I do want to oc but I don't think I'll do massive oc.

I'm giving up @ 4600mhz even though I'm watercooled. very disappointing but I just can't think of anything else I can do to get it to stop throttling, it has to be the VRMs, I have a 120mm fan blowing cold air on them and I have the stock AMD fan blowing air underneath the heatsink, still no luck.... @ 4700mhz and like 1.43 voltage i get throttling.

Oh well, still plenty fast @ 4600

Have you tried pushing it up to 1.45-1.48 on the voltage? I'm running 1.45 on my 4.6GHz to keep it stable on the M5A99FX Pro with an 8350.

All that would do is make it overheat quicker. The motherboard must be throttling due to heat at this point. I was trying to find the lowest voltage and highest clock I could run. Even with cold air being blown right on the VRM I can't seem to give it any more juice. Very sad day frown.gif

I don't have any extra cooling on my VRMS and am only running an h80i. If your temps in your hardware monitor aren't showing too high then I don't understand why it would be throttling out. Full watercooling should allow between 1.5 and 1.55V depending on the setup and chip. I know mine can go to 4.7GHz at 1.48v on my h80i and board... I just didn't like the voltages and temps to keep it stable.

I guess I'll format and reflash the bios tonight in case anything is stuck in software or bios somewhere that is making this throttling take place. Your setup gives me home for mine but I really do think I've lost most of my hope smile.gif

This is OCN, NEVER lose hope. Especially with good rigs!
