Help me with a new (1st) Conroe build

For now I have these on my list..
E6600
OCZ GameExtreme 700w psu
XFX 7900GS XT Edition
CORSAIR XMS2 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400)
Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 ST3320620AS 320GB 7200 RPM 16MB Cache
Arctic Silver 5

What I'm not sure about is the mobo and cpu hsf. I was thinking either the Gigabyte DQ6, or the Asus P5B Deluxe for the mobo, and for the hsf I was thinking the ZALMAN CNPS7700-CU. I want to keep the build under $1200. I will use the rest of my current setup which inclides a Lian-Li PC-60 case, Lite-on cdrw, toshiba dvdrom and LG super multi dvd/cd writer. I have never overclocked before, but want to venture into it this time around. Any suggestions or ideas?

Asus P5B deluxe

And get either a Thermaltake Big Typhoon and Silverstone FM121 or go with a Tuniq Tower if you can find one in stock.

You can either go for the cheapest D9s (cheapest good overclocking ram) or you can go for the cheapest Promos or other Ram types worse than D9 (cheapest possible ram) don't get expensive Promos like that Corsair set.

This is the cheapest confirmed D9 right now-275.99

they are the chips in the ram that do everything, and some are better than others. the D9s are currently the best RAM chips.

I am probably going with this ram, but my question is since it's ddr2 1000, will it work even if I don't overclock the p5b deluxe(will the mobo boot out of the box with this high end ram)? I ask because the p5b deluxe specs say it supports ddr2 800, says nothing about ddr2 1000 ram.
